Juan Carlos Sagawa - Dentista
Juan Carlos Sagawa was born in Lima, Peru in 1975. He is the son of Sonia del Pozo, a Peruvian pharmacist, and Juan Sagawa, a Japanese engineer. From the time he was young, Juan Carlos was exposed to many new cultures while traveling with his mother as she furthered her education. Juan Carlos speaks Spanish, English, and German.Years later, in Peru, Juan Carlos graduated from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru, and then continued into a Dental Science Master Program. Three years later he moved to the United States to complete the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and was asked to join the University of Connecticut’s two-year Fellowship in General Dentistry.From Connecticut, Juan Carlos came to Olympia and joined a community health center, serving the low-income population for 6 years. In February 2013, he joined Dr. Rose H. Bailey as her Associate Dentist and loves everything about his new experience.Juan Carlos enjoys biking, hiking, and surfing and is a huge fan of soccer. He also loves dancing salsa, which is how he met his wife Kati. They live in Tumwater and enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, but always make a point to travel and learn about new places and cultures.
